The RSO (Raupenschlepper Ost, or "Caterpillar Tractor East") was developed by Steyr after the mud and ice of the Eastern Front showed the need for a highly mobile tracked vehicle, and roughly 23,000 were built by several manufacturers. The original RSO/01 used a pressed-steel cab, a truck-style cargo bed and a Steyr 85hp V8 good for 30km/h. Dragon released this Smart Kit in 2012, depicting the standard rounded-cab version, the best known of all RSO variants.
