Description
DOY200-D8-1500 - Doyusha 1/200 Douglas DC-8-61 - WWHP113284
Preowned, Original seal, Mint
The Douglas DC-8-61 was the first of the Super Sixty stretches, adding just over 11 metres of fuselage to the original DC-8 and lifting capacity to as many as 259 passengers. It gave Douglas a genuine answer to the Boeing 707 on high density routes and, for a time, made the -61 the longest airliner in the world. Japan Air Lines operated the type through the 1970s and into the 1980s in the classic red cheatline and tsurumaru crane scheme, flying domestic trunk routes and Pacific services. This Doyusha boxing comes from the Famous Airliner Series and uses the well regarded Japanese tooling originally released by Nitto.
In the box
- Doyusha 1:200 scale injection moulded plastic kit, made in Japan
- Waterslide decal sheet printed by Cartograf for Japan Air Lines in the older Japan Air Lines livery
- Optional position landing gear for a gear up or gear down build
- Display stand included
- Illustrated instructions with painting and decal placement guide
