Sopwith’s 5F.1 Dolphin entered service in early 1918. Its upper wing had negative stagger, sitting behind the lower one, and the pilot’s head poked up through a gap in the centre section, which gave a superb view in almost every direction. Powered by a 200 hp Hispano-Suiza V8 and armed with twin Vickers guns, it was fast, agile and effective at high altitude. In 1918 the Canadian Air Force formed No. 1 Squadron in England, the first Canadian fighter squadron, and flew Dolphins alongside SE.5as until it was disbanded in 1920. This Copper State Models kit comes with Above & Below decals for those Canadian Dolphins.
