The third-generation Ford Thunderbird of 1961 to 1963 earned the nickname “Bullet Bird” for its sleek, rocket-inspired styling, with a pointed nose and big round afterburner-style taillights. For 1962 Ford added the Sports Roadster. Its fibreglass tonneau cover fitted over the rear seats to turn the four-seat convertible into a two-seater with twin headrest fairings, and it came with Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels. Fewer than 1,500 Sports Roadsters were built that year, which makes it one of the most sought-after Thunderbirds today. This AMT 2-in-1 Deluxe kit from Round 2 builds either a stock T-Bird or a custom, and it adds customizing parts that were never offered in the original kit.
