AMT's Advanced Customizing Kits were the high water mark of the 1960s American annual, giving the builder a stock car, a mild custom and a wild custom in one box along with the materials to cut and reshape the body themselves. The subject here is the 1963 Ford Galaxie 500 XL Sports Hardtop, and the styling parts were developed by AMT's in house customizing team of Dave Carlock, John Mueller, Jim Allard, Bruce Byerly and Tom Montgomery, with California Custom as accessories consultants and Car Craft magazine as design consultants. This is the 1995 Ertl reissue of the original tooling, made in the USA and officially licensed by Ford.
