American LaFrance of Elmira, New York was one of the great names in North American fire apparatus, building fire engines from the late 1800s on. Its 900 Series cab-forward design of the late 1950s became one of the most familiar fire truck shapes of the era, with a wide cab that gave crews better visibility and room. The Aero Chief was the company’s aerial platform truck. Instead of a plain ladder, it carried a boom with an enclosed basket at the tip, so firefighters could work at height from a stable platform with a water monitor. Fire departments across the United States and Canada ran these big red rigs for decades. This AMT kit from the Code Red series builds a large, highly detailed Aero Chief at 1/25 scale.
