AMT1170 - AMT 1/24 Reefer Trailer - WWHP113721

Preowned, Resealed, Mint

Refrigerated "reefer" trailers made it possible to haul perishable food long distances by road. The idea took off after inventor Frederick McKinley Jones designed a practical roof-mounted refrigeration unit for trucks around 1940, and he co-founded Thermo King with Joseph Numero. Nose-mounted Thermo King units became the standard on North American reefers. Behind the big rigs of the 1970s and 80s trucking era, these trailers became a familiar part of the highway landscape.
