The Jetstream began as a Handley Page design in the late 1960s and was revived by British Aerospace as the Garrett-powered Jetstream 31. The Royal Navy took the T3 variant in the mid-1980s as an observer trainer, fitted with an underfuselage radar, and later flew them in the communications role until retirement. Amodel's 2018 limited edition short-run kit depicts ZE440 in the Navy's white and blue scheme.
