This kit replicates the Sukhoi T-49, an experimental Soviet interceptor prototype built in 1959 on the basis of the Su-9 fighter. It featured a redesigned nose with a fixed center-body radome and side air intakes, an arrangement intended to reduce intake pressure loss and house a larger radar. The aircraft flew a limited test program before being abandoned. This is an Amodel limited-edition short-run kit of roughly 80 parts.
