AIR298 - Airfix 1/72 Firefly Mk. 5 - WWWEB10114715
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
The Fairey Firefly was a British two-seat carrier-borne fighter-reconnaissance and strike aircraft built for the Fleet Air Arm by Fairey Aviation, first flown in December 1941 and powered by the Rolls-Royce Griffon. It served in the Second World War as a fleet fighter and strike aircraft, including carrier raids in the Pacific, then was adapted postwar for strike and anti-submarine work. The multi-role Mk 5 (FR.5/NF.5/AS.5) is best remembered for its extensive service in the Korean War, where British and Australian Fireflies flew ground-attack and close-support sorties from Royal Navy and RAN light fleet carriers.
