Description
AIR2201 - Airfix by Craft Master 1/45 Museum Series Beam Engine - WWWEB10108783
Preowned, Resealed, Parts off sprue
The beam engine was the defining prime mover of the Industrial Revolution, pumping water from mines and driving factory machinery across Britain from the early 18th century. Pioneered by Thomas Newcomen and refined by James Watt, these atmospheric and steam-pressure engines remained in widespread use well into the 19th century. Airfix's Museum Series kit reproduces the operating mechanism in scale, with fully functional moving parts that demonstrate the actual valve-and-piston cycle.
Box Contents:
- Injection-moulded plastic parts (engine frame, flywheel, beam, cylinder, piston, valve gear, base)
- Small electric motor and battery compartment assembly (original Craft Master issue)
- Nylon drive gears, metal driveshaft, and rubber drive sleeve for motorisation
- On/off switch
- Assembly instruction sheet
