The Harrier GR5 was the RAF's second generation jump jet, a British assembled version of the McDonnell Douglas AV-8B Harrier II that replaced the first generation GR3 from 1988. The larger composite wing, raised cockpit and improved avionics roughly doubled the weapon load and radius of action while retaining the vertical and short takeoff capability that made the type unique. This is Airfix's Series 4 boxing of its 1/72 GR5, with the sizeable ordnance load shown on the box art.
