The Petlyakov Pe-2 was the Soviet Air Force's primary twin-engine dive bomber of the Second World War, with over 11,000 built between 1940 and 1945. Fast and accurate in the dive bombing role, it served with the VVS on the Eastern Front from 1941 and was also operated by allied air forces including Poland's 1st Bomber Division through to the end of the war.
