AIR02027-1 - Airfix 1/72 Blenheim IV - WWHP111700
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
The 1975 Type 4 logo issue of Airfix's 1968-tooled Blenheim IV, Made in England, with dramatic Roy Cross-era boxart of Free French Blenheims over the desert. Series 2 kit featuring interior detail, crew figures, and a rotating dorsal turret. Decals for two aircraft: a Free French Groupe de Bombardement "Lorraine" machine with the cross of Lorraine (Middle East, 1941) and an RAF No. 235 Squadron Blenheim from the summer of 1940.
The Blenheim IV was the RAF's standard light bomber at the outbreak of war, the long-nosed development of an aircraft that had been faster than any RAF fighter when it first flew in 1935. By 1940 it was outclassed but carried the fight regardless, flying some of the war's most courageous low-level daylight raids and serving in every theatre from the Channel to the Western Desert and the Far East.
