Preowned, Resealed, Mint
The de Havilland Mosquito, the “Wooden Wonder,” was built mostly from plywood and balsa. That kept strategic materials free for other aircraft, and it let furniture makers across Britain and Canada help with production. Two Rolls-Royce Merlin engines made it one of the fastest aircraft of the war, fast enough that the early versions needed no defensive guns. The FB.VI fighter-bomber was the most-produced Mosquito. It carried four 20 mm cannon and four machine guns in the nose, plus bombs or rockets, and flew low-level precision strikes such as the famous February 1944 raid on Amiens prison. De Havilland Canada built more than 1,000 Mosquitoes at Downsview here in Toronto. This Airfix kit, made in France, builds an RAF FB.VI, “EG-T”, MM417, as shown on the box art.
