Vallejo Model Air — Light Gull Grey

Light Gull Grey FS 36440 — US Navy standard upper surface 1970s–1990s. F-14A/B/D Tomcat (VF-1 Wolfpack, VF-84 Jolly Rogers), A-6E Intruder (VA-65), F-4J/S Phantom II (VF-96). The primary grey for most USN aircraft before the current low-visibility schemes. Paired with white or gull grey undersides.

Application: Water-based acrylic. Thin with water for brush painting, or Vallejo Acrylic Thinner for airbrushing. Add a few drops of Vallejo Flow Improver to cut surface tension, improve levelling, slow tip dry, and allow water-based acrylics to spray like a lacquer or solvent-based paint. Aim for a milk-like consistency.
