Vallejo Model Air — Base Grey
Subject: Aircraft
Base grey FS 36173 — same reference as Barley Grey. C-130H, KC-135A/R Stratotanker, C-141B Starlifter. Applied as the standard overall grey for USAF strategic transport and tanker aircraft throughout the Cold War.
Application: Water-based acrylic. Thin with water for brush painting, or Vallejo Acrylic Thinner for airbrushing. Add a few drops of Vallejo Flow Improver to cut surface tension, improve levelling, slow tip dry, and allow water-based acrylics to spray like a lacquer or solvent-based paint. Aim for a milk-like consistency.
