Vallejo Model Air — Pale Blue Grey

Subject: Aircraft

Light blue-grey tone (approx. FS 36373 / FS 36473 range) — used for undersides and maritime patrol aircraft, approx. 1930s–1950s with continued modern analogues. Applied to: RAF Coastal Command aircraft including Lockheed Hudson, Consolidated Catalina, Short Sunderland, Vickers Wellington GR variants; Fleet Air Arm aircraft such as Fairey Swordfish Mk.I/II, Fairey Fulmar; US Navy aircraft including PBY Catalina, PBM Mariner (early schemes); postwar aircraft including early jet trainers and transports. Used in Atlantic patrols (Battle of the Atlantic 1939–45), Mediterranean naval operations, and anti-submarine warfare missions.

Application: Water-based acrylic. Thin with water for brush painting, or Vallejo Acrylic Thinner for airbrushing. Add a few drops of Vallejo Flow Improver to cut surface tension, improve levelling, slow tip dry, and allow water-based acrylics to spray like a lacquer or solvent-based paint. Aim for a milk-like consistency.
