The Ford Sierra XR-4i was the sporting 3-door variant of Ford of Europe's groundbreaking 1982 Sierra — a radical aerodynamic departure from the boxy Cortina it replaced. Powered by Ford's 2.8-litre Cologne V6 with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection producing 150 bhp, the XR-4i was distinguished by its grille-less front nose, flush body cladding, and distinctive double rear spoiler, which reduced drag to a Cd of 0.32. Tamiya issued this original new-tool kit in 1985 — the only injection-moulded 1/24 kit of the Sierra in civilian trim ever produced. A notably detailed effort for its era, it includes a complete engine. The kit has never been reissued and is now difficult to find.
