The Bergepanzer Tiger I was a rare armored recovery variant based on the Tiger I heavy tank chassis, adapted for battlefield recovery and repair operations during World War II. Designed to assist in the retrieval of disabled heavy tanks under combat conditions, it was fitted with recovery equipment such as winches, towing gear, and field modification tools, while retaining much of the Tiger’s original armor and mobility. Rye Field Model’s 1/35 scale kit depicts this uncommon variant with exceptional detail, including a fully rendered interior and accurate recovery-specific fittings for an authentic representation of late-war German armored engineering vehicles.
