Description

ROD049 - Roden 1/72 Curtiss H-16 - WWHP113633

Preowned, Resealed, Mint

The Curtiss H-16 was the American-built version of the famous Felixstowe F.2A, produced under licence after F.2A designer John Porte drew on his long partnership with Glenn Curtiss. Structurally almost identical to its British counterpart, the H-16 was powered by American Liberty V12 engines, and it served with the Royal Naval Air Service on coastal patrol and anti-submarine duties in 1918, as well as with the US Navy in Britain and at home until the mid-1920s. Roden's large-scale 1/72 kit captures this imposing twin-engine biplane flying boat with four marking options spanning both services.

  • 236 grey styrene parts on 11 sprues, including a full-length hull, large-span biplane wings, interplane struts and tail surfaces
  • Two detailed V12 engines with radiators, engine bearers and propellers
  • Multiple open gun positions with Lewis guns, plus bombs and bomb racks
  • Waterslide decal sheet with four options: N4892, Felixstowe, May 1918; K-29, Killingholme, 1918; A-1032 "LF4", Lough Foyle, 1918; and A-845, US Navy, 1920s, including RAF and US roundels, star insignia, rudder stripes, serials and codes
  • Multilingual instructions with aircraft history, specifications and Humbrol painting guide
