The Heinkel He 111 was a German medium bomber of the Second World War. The He 111E "Emil" was an early production version with the stepped cockpit and Jumo 211 engines, which saw combat with the Legion Condor in the Spanish Civil War and in the opening campaigns of the war, including the invasion of Poland.
