The Messerschmitt Bf 109E "Emil" was the principal Luftwaffe fighter at the height of the Battle of Britain in 1940, powered by the fuel-injected Daimler-Benz DB 601 engine and armed with a mix of cannon and machine guns. Fast, hard-hitting, and rugged, it fought on every front in the early war years and remained the backbone of German fighter strength until later 109 variants took over. It was one of the most-produced fighter aircraft in history.

This is the Revell (G.B.) Ltd. boxing of the 1/72 Bf 109E (Potters Bar, England), based on Revell's classic "Authentic Kits" tooling, with a frameable box-top illustration by B. Knight. Decals represent a Luftwaffe aircraft.
