Description
H-180 Revell 1/32 DeHavilland Mosquito Mk IV Bomber PREOWNED119190
Preowned, Original seal, Box worn
The de Havilland Mosquito B Mk IV was the RAF's primary high-speed precision bomber of the mid-war period, constructed almost entirely of wood and powered by two Rolls-Royce Merlin engines that gave it a speed capable of outrunning most Luftwaffe interceptors. Operating without defensive armament and relying on speed and altitude for survival, Mk IV Mosquitoes of No. 2 Group and the Pathfinder Force conducted some of the most celebrated precision raids of the war, including the attack on Gestapo headquarters in Oslo and the low-level strike on Amiens prison in 1944. The type's wooden construction allowed rapid production without consuming strategic aluminium.
