Description
RAG04399 - Revell - 1/72 C-47 Skytrain Berliner Luftbrucke/Berlin Airlift - WWHP113598
Preowned, Resealed, Mint inside, Box worn
The C-47 Skytrain grew out of the Douglas DC-3 of 1935 and became one of the most important transports of the Second World War, going on to serve in Korea and Vietnam. When the Soviet Union blockaded West Berlin's land routes in June 1948, the C-47 was the first aircraft to fly supplies into the city, with the USAF opening its airlift on 26 June 1948 using 32 Skytrains flying from Wiesbaden into Tempelhof. Revell released this kit in 1998 to mark the 50th anniversary of the Berlin Airlift, and this example carries the Borgfeldt (Canada) Limited importer label.
