The English Electric (later BAC) Lightning was Britain's only all-British Mach 2 interceptor, famous for its stacked twin engines, blistering climb rate and short endurance. The F.6 was the definitive RAF variant, with a larger ventral fuel pack and cambered wings, and it held the line at RAF Binbrook until the type was retired in 1988. Revell's now-discontinued 04301 release depicts two Binbrook aircraft from the Lightning's final decade.
