Built at Downsview in Toronto from 1965, the Twin Otter paired two PT6 turboprops with a high wing full of double-slotted flaps, giving it short field performance that opened up airstrips nothing else could use. That versatility made it a natural survey platform, and the Swiss Federal Office of Topography flew T-741 on geological and topographical mapping sorties over the Alps in the distinctive red and white scheme shown here.
