The Curtiss JN-4 "Jenny" was America's most famous aircraft of the First World War, developed from the earlier Curtiss "J" and "N" designs and ordered in large numbers by the Signal Corps after the US entered the war in 1917. The JN-4D became the standard primary trainer, with thousands built, and after the Armistice hundreds passed into civilian hands to become the mainstay of 1920s barnstorming — a few were still flying into the 1930s. This boxing represents the early JN-4A/D, powered by the 90 hp OX-5 engine.
