Description
NTT574 (No.3) - Nitto Kagaku 1/28 De Tomaso Pantera GTS Motorized - WWHP113768
Preowned, resealed, box worn, some parts off sprue, decals have slight water damage
The De Tomaso Pantera came out of a partnership between Italian builder Alejandro de Tomaso and Ford. It was launched in 1971, and Ford sold it in North America through Lincoln-Mercury dealers. Ghia’s Tom Tjaarda designed its sharp, wedge-shaped body, and the mid-mounted 5.8 litre Ford 351 Cleveland V8 gave it Italian supercar looks with American power. It was also easy to maintain. The GTS was a sportier version with more power, flared wheel arches and black trim. Panteras raced in Group 3 and Group 4 GT racing across Europe through the 1970s. Nitto Kagaku’s 1/28 kit shows a #33 racing Pantera in red and black with Sachs bonnet markings, and a built-in electric motor drives the finished car across the floor.
