Description
NAK4408 - Nakamura 1/24 Ford Mk IV - WWHP113705
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
Ford built the Mk IV for 1967 on the bonded aluminium honeycomb chassis of the experimental J-car. It had a long, low-drag body and was powered by the 7.0 litre 427 V8 that had won Le Mans in the Mk II. In its first race the Mk IV won the 1967 Sebring 12 Hours. At Le Mans that June, Dan Gurney and A.J. Foyt drove it to victory, the first Le Mans win with an all-American car and an all-American driver pairing. After that race the 7 litre prototypes were ruled out, so the Mk IV raced only that one season.
