The R5D was the US Navy and Marine Corps designation for the Douglas C-54 Skymaster, the four-engine transport that grew out of the DC-4 airliner. The Blue Angels flew an R5D in their blue and gold scheme through the 1950s and 1960s as a support aircraft, carrying maintenance crews and equipment from show to show. Minicraft released this 1/144 kit in 2005 with recessed panel lines and full team markings.
