Description
MDS5405 - Modeler's 1/24 Chapparal 2D - WWHP113462
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
Jim Hall's Chaparral Cars operated out of Midland, Texas, and spent the 1960s introducing ideas that the rest of motorsport spent the following decade catching up with. The 2D was the coupé version of the 2C, powered by a Chevrolet aluminium V8 driving through Hall's own automatic transmission, and it carried the high mounted rear wing that made the marque famous. Its finest hour came at the Nürburgring 1000km in May 1966, where Phil Hill and Jo Bonnier took an outright win against the works Ferrari and Porsche teams.
