MON85-2850 - Monogram 1/24 Jim Hall'sChaparral 2D Coupe - Daytona 1966 - WWWEB10108851
Preowned, Original seal, Mint
The Chaparral 2D was a Group 6 sports prototype developed by Jim Hall and Hap Sharp at Chaparral Cars in Midland, Texas, notable for its fibreglass monocoque construction, Chaparral 3-speed automatic transmission, and distinctive fixed-roof coupe body — an unusual choice in an era of open prototypes. The car debuted at the 1966 24 Hours of Daytona driven by Phil Hill and Jo Bonnier, though the car retired before the finish with mechanical failure. The same car and driver pairing went on to win the 1966 1000 km Nürburgring later that season. This Monogram kit is a 1996 rebox of the original 1966 tooling, depicting the #65 Daytona entry.
