Description
MAH013 - Minicraft Hasegawa 1/72 Lockheed F-104J Starfighter - WWHP111646
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
The Lockheed F-104 Starfighter was a Mach-2 interceptor of the late 1950s, nicknamed "the missile with a man in it" for its tiny razor-edged wings and blistering speed. The F-104J was the Japan Air Self-Defence Force version, license-built in Japan by Mitsubishi, and the type also served widely with West Germany, Italy, Canada, and other NATO operators. This is Hasegawa's long-running F-104 tooling (kit JS-013 / B3) in the late-1970s Minicraft-distributed US boxing.
Box contents:
- Silver-moulded plastic sprues
- Clear parts (canopy)
- Drop tanks, centerline camera pod, and Sidewinder missile rails
- Waterslide decal sheet with alternate markings
- Printed assembly instructions (English, Minicraft issue)
Marking options: JASDF Starfighters (box aircraft "46-8619") plus a West German Luftwaffe F-104G scheme on the alternate-markings sheet. Requires cement and paint. A classic-era Hasegawa kit — raised panel lines and basic cockpit by modern standards, but a clean, characterful build.
