Western Star built its reputation in western Canada and the Pacific Northwest, assembling heavy trucks in Kelowna, British Columbia, to order rather than off a standard line. The 5964SS Constellation was its aerodynamic highway tractor, with a sloped hood and swept fenders aimed at cutting fuel consumption on long hauls. Galvanized steel construction and air ride suspension made it a durable, comfortable long distance machine, and its Canadian roots have always given it a following on this side of the border.
