Description
ITA038 - Italeri 1/72 Junkers Ju-88 A-17 Torpedo Bomber - WWWEB10108388
Preowned, resealed, mint, some parts off sprue
The Ju-88 A-17 was a dedicated torpedo bomber variant of the A-4, identifiable by the torpedo control cable ducting on the right side of the nose and modified wing racks for carrying two LT F5b air-launched torpedoes. It was operated primarily by Kampfgeschwader 26 "Löwengeschwader" and saw action against Allied Arctic convoys — most notably playing a central role in the destruction of convoy PQ-17 in July 1942. The A-17 represented the Luftwaffe's most capable dedicated torpedo-bombing platform of the war.
