Description

IBG72509 - IBG - 1/72 PZL 42 Polish Light Bomber - WWWEB10113105

Preowned, Original seal, Mint

The PZL.42 was a one-off testbed built in 1936, a modified PZL.23 Karaś fitted with twin fins and a retractable ventral bombardier gondola to trial features intended for the follow-on PZL.46 Sum. The changes brought no real performance gain and nothing came of it beyond the single airframe, which was still around to be photographed at Dęblin in 1939. With the Karaś serving as Poland's main light bomber through the September 1939 campaign, the PZL.42 makes an unusual and rarely modelled footnote to that family.

In the box:

  • Approximately 50 parts in tan plastic across several sprues, finely engraved panel lines and raised interior detail
  • 12 clear parts on a separate sprue, thin canopy with scale framing
  • One photo-etched fret
  • Waterslide decal sheet printed by Techmod, including instrument panel
  • Two marking options, both Polish khaki over light blue-grey: 1937 test scheme, and the prototype at Dęblin 1939, differing in checkerboard national insignia style
  • Illustrated instruction booklet with colour painting and marking pages
  • Cement, paint and tools not included
