HMS Lord Nelson was laid down at Palmer's shipyard in 1905 and completed in October 1908, the lead ship of the last pre-dreadnought class built for the Royal Navy. Her construction was overtaken by events — HMS Dreadnought was launched and commissioned before Lord Nelson was even completed, immediately rendering her obsolete. She nonetheless served throughout the First World War, participating in the Dardanelles bombardment on 19 February 1915 and later operating with the Eastern Mediterranean Fleet. She was sold for breaking in 1920. Hobby Boss released this new-tool kit in 2017, the only injection-moulded 1/350 kit of the type.
