Description
HASCH011 - Hasegawa 1/48 McDonnell Douglas F-15A Eagle ASAT Missile - WWWEB10114411
Preowned, Resealed, Mint
The McDonnell Douglas F-15A Eagle was the U.S. Air Force's premier air-superiority fighter, and in the mid-1980s a pair of Eagles were configured to carry the ASM-135 ASAT — an air-launched anti-satellite missile. In the program's single live test in September 1985, an F-15 launched an ASM-135 that destroyed the orbiting Solwind P78-1 satellite, the only successful intercept of its kind. This is Hasegawa's Collectors' Hi-Grade Series No. 11, a premium-content boxing of their 1/48 Eagle tooling.
Box contents (Hi-Grade series):
- Grey-moulded plastic sprues
- Clear parts
- Photo-etched / soft-metal parts (in the sealed inner box)
- Photo-film instrument detail
- Two waterslide decal sheets — one F-15A/ASAT, one F-15C
- Printed assembly + marking instructions
Marking options: "Green Dragons" 318 FIS / 25 AD, and 6512 TS (test squadron) on the F-15A/ASAT sheet; the second sheet adds F-15C 1st TFW "FF" markings (AF 80-0037). The ASAT missile and its stencils are included.
