The A320 was the aircraft that made Airbus a genuine rival to Boeing, introducing fly by wire controls and sidestick flight decks to airline service in 1988 and going on to become one of the best selling jetliners ever built. Northwest Airlines was among the largest early North American operators, flying a substantial A320 fleet in the grey and red scheme shown here until the Delta merger retired the brand in 2010. This is Hasegawa's 2001 Northwest release of its 1/200 A320 tooling, made in Japan, building to 188 mm long with a 170.5 mm span.
