HAS02568 - Hasegawa 1/72 F4U-1D Corsair 'VF-84, U.S.S. Bunker Hill' - WWHP113043
Preowned, Resealed, Mint inside, Box worn
The Vought F4U Corsair was a US carrier-capable fighter of the Second World War and Korea, instantly recognisable by its inverted gull wing and powerful Pratt & Whitney R-2800 radial engine. The F4U-1D was a mid-war development that added underwing pylons for drop tanks and rockets, along with a raised seat and revised canopy for better visibility. VF-84 flew Corsairs from USS Bunker Hill in the Pacific in early 1945, wearing overall Glossy Sea Blue with the squadron's distinctive white arrow tail markings. This is Hasegawa's 1998 boxing of its 1/72 F4U-1D kit with VF-84 markings.
