The Vought F4U Corsair, recognisable by its inverted gull wing and huge four bladed propeller, was one of the finest carrier fighters of the Second World War. Over 2,000 were supplied to Britain's Fleet Air Arm under Lend-Lease, and the Royal Navy famously pioneered a curved carrier approach that let the type operate from decks the US Navy had initially judged too small for it. British Corsairs had slightly clipped wingtips to fit below hangar decks. This is a special marking boxing of Hasegawa's F4U-1D kit.
