British Airways launched its “World Images” or “Utopia” identity in 1997. It replaced the Union flag tail with artwork from around the world, celebrating the cultures on its route network. The Canada design, “Whale Rider,” is by West Coast First Nations artist Joe David and shows a figure riding a whale in bold Northwest Coast style. This GeminiJets model shows Boeing 777-236(ER) G-YMMA, a Rolls-Royce Trent 895-powered aircraft delivered to BA in January 2000.
