The DC-9 was Douglas's twin-jet short-haul airliner, first flying in 1965 with rear-mounted Pratt & Whitney JT8D engines and a T-tail. The DC-9-15 was an improved version of the original short-fuselage Series 10, with higher weights and more fuel for greater range. This 2010 kit from Czech manufacturer FLY depicts DC-9-15 N29 flown by the US Federal Aviation Administration.
