Qantas worked with the Aboriginal-owned design studio Balarinji to paint a series of Boeing 747s in Indigenous Australian artwork. This blue scheme matches “Nalanji Dreaming,” which was unveiled in 1995 on 747-338 VH-EBU. Its turquoise base is covered in colourful motifs inspired by the rainforests and reefs of tropical Queensland. “Nalanji” means “our place.” The aircraft flew these colours on international routes for years, and it’s still one of the best-loved airliner liveries ever.
