Few airliners have served as long or as widely as the Douglas DC-3. Thousands of wartime C-47 Dakotas went into civilian service after 1945, and the type remained a workhorse of British regional flying for decades. In the 1970s, Humberside-based Eastern Airways flew Dakotas including G-AMPO, which also gave pleasure flights at air shows. Esci's 1/72 kit, released in the UK under the Humbrol banner, depicts the airline's red, white and blue scheme.
