The Polikarpov R-5 was a Soviet two-seat reconnaissance and light bomber biplane designed by Nikolai Polikarpov and first flown in 1928. Produced in very large numbers, it became one of the most widely used Soviet aircraft of the interwar years, serving as a recon platform, light bomber, ground-attack machine, and utility aircraft, and seeing combat in the Spanish Civil War and the early stages of the Second World War. This is a 1993 Encore Models boxing of the ex-FROG tooling originally released in 1977.
