The Demag-designed Sd.Kfz.10 (leichter Zugkraftwagen 1t) was the Wehrmacht's standard light halftrack prime mover, produced from 1938 with roughly 14,000 built across seven factories. Powered by a Maybach 6-cylinder engine, it carried a 1-tonne payload or up to eight troops and was the only German halftrack to use a hull rather than a frame chassis. Among the weapons it regularly towed was the 5cm PaK 38 L/60, introduced on the Eastern Front in 1941 specifically to counter the T-34 and KV-1.
