Description

7554 - AZ Models - 1/72 MiG-17F (special schemes) - WWHP113316

Preowned, Original seal, Mint

The MiG-17 was a thorough refinement of the MiG-15, with a new thinner wing of greater sweep and a lengthened fuselage that cured the earlier fighter's high-speed handling problems. The F model added an afterburning VK-1F engine and became the most widely produced variant, licence-built in Poland as the Lim-5 and in China as the J-5. Many survived into civilian hands, and this AZ model boxing covers three special schemes: two American warbird MiG-17s on the airshow circuit and a Polish Air Force aircraft painted for its final flight in 1993.

Box contents:

  • Dark grey styrene sprues with engraved panel detail
  • Clear sprue for canopy and gunsight glazing
  • Wing tanks, landing gear, wheels, and gear doors
  • Multi-colour waterslide decal sheet for three versions: MiG-17 (Lim-5) N117RH "Stolichnaya" flown by Randy Howell, United States; MiG-17 (Lim-5) 1717 "Ostatni Lim" last flight markings, 45th Experimental Squadron, Polish Air Force 1993; and MiG-17 (Lim-5) N9341Z, Black Diamonds aerobatic team, United States 2012
  • Full colour multilingual instruction sheet with painting and marking guide
