Preowned, Resealed, Mint inside, Box worn
“Dyno Don” Nicholson was one of the great factory-backed drag racers of the early 1960s, known for his skill at tuning Chevrolet’s mighty 409 V8. At the 1962 NHRA Winternationals in Pomona, California, he took his ‘62 Bel Air into the Stock Eliminator final against Dave Strickler’s 409 Bel Air. Nicholson won with a 12.84-second run at 109.22 mph. Chevrolet used the lightweight Bel Air bubble-top with the 409 to dominate the Super Stock classes, and it remains one of the most famous drag cars of the era. This AMT/Ertl kit replicates Nicholson’s white SS/S 659 Bel Air from Service Chevrolet of Pasadena.
